WHAT DISCOUNT DO YOU OFFER FIRST RESPONDERS?

Brooklyn Bedding offers an everyday discount of 25% to all eligible first responders—applicable to all purchases, both online and in-store. Other promotions may apply during holiday periods.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Brooklyn Bedding has partnered with ID.me, an advanced digital identity company that provides an online credential to active first responders to access exclusive offers and benefits. This offer is available to all U.S. first responders and emergency personnel—including law enforcement, EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters. A full list of eligible occupations can be found here.

HOW IS MY DISCOUNT APPLIED?

You can shop BrooklynBedding.com or any of our Brooklyn Bedding stores, select your products, then verify your eligibility during the shopping process using the ID.me button on the checkout page. Once your eligibility is confirmed, the discount will automatically apply to your entire shopping cart.

HOW DO I VERIFY MY STATUS TO RECEIVE MY DISCOUNT?

If not instantly verified, ID.me will compare the information provided in the uploaded document(s) against the information entered in the verification form. To ensure a speedy and successful verification, please pay attention to how you enter your information on the form so that it will match what is seen on the document(s). For example, enter your first and last name on the form as it appears on your official document(s).

WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENT(S) DO I UPLOAD IF ASKED?

You can use the following documents to verify as a First Responder:

EMTs / Paramedics can use a state license, a EMT/Paramedic certification issued within the past 48 months, or an ID Card with their name and title on it.
Firefighters can use an ID card with their name and title on it, a firefighter certification issued within the past 48 months, or an unexpired membership card.
Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) can use a valid ID card that states their name and title, a pay stub that shows their occupational title, or a LEO certification issued within the past 48 months. Federal LEOs can use your SF-50.
911 Dispatchers can use an ID Card with their name and title on it or a 911 Dispatcher certification issued within the past 48 months.
Retired First Responders can use a retiree ID card, retirement certificate, etc.

NOTE: We do not accept transcripts, department logos, business cards, emblems, or pictures of individuals dressed in uniform as a form of verification. All badges must be accompanied by proper identification. ID cards must show a valid occupational title, not Employee or Civilian.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO VERIFY MY FIRST RESPONDER STATUS?

If you choose to verify using your first responder credentials (for example, National or State EMT license/certification number or NFPA ProBoard certification), verification is usually immediate. If you choose to upload documentation, the review may take longer.

Once we have reviewed your document(s), you will receive an email letting you know whether or not you have been verified; and if verification was unsuccessful, guidance for next steps.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T PROVE I’M A FIRST RESPONDER?

This is extremely rare for first responders who are active. All jurisdictions provide some kind of official document that is acceptable to ID.me. In the event you cannot provide us any acceptable proof of validation, we will be unable to approve eligibility.

IS MY INFORMATION SECURE?

ID.me protects all sensitive data with stronger encryption than many financial institutions. Additionally, ID.me is one of only three companies certified by the U.S. Government to enable citizens to access sensitive information from federal agencies. Data security is their number one priority. They do not share information with third parties without their members' explicit permission. You decide whether or not you wish to release that information or to keep it private on a case-by-case basis.

IS THE FIRST RESPONDERS DISCOUNT AVAILABLE IN BROOKLYN BEDDING STORES AS WELL AS ONLINE?

Yes, the First Responder discount and any other related special promotions are applied at checkout when shopping in our showrooms. For security and privacy reasons, Brooklyn Bedding stores can only verify first responder identification documents in person at an authorized retail store. You may present your credentials at the time of purchase, or work with an in-store associate to digitally verify your eligibility using ID.me.
