WHAT DISCOUNT DO YOU OFFER TEACHERS/EDUCATORS?

Brooklyn Bedding offers an everyday discount of 25% to all eligible teachers/educators—applicable to all purchases, both online and in-store. Other promotions may apply during holiday periods.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Brooklyn Bedding has partnered with ID.me, an advanced digital identity company that provides an online credential to active educators to access exclusive offers and benefits.

HOW IS MY DISCOUNT APPLIED?

You can shop BrooklynBedding.com or any of our Brooklyn Bedding stores, select your products, then verify your eligibility during the shopping process using the ID.me button on the checkout page. Once your eligibility is confirmed, the discount will automatically apply to your entire shopping cart.

HOW DO I VERIFY MY STATUS TO RECEIVE MY DISCOUNT?

You can load all of your product selections to your shopping cart, then simply click the ID.me button on the checkout page. If you are licensed by your state, we may be able to verify your identity from public records. Otherwise, you may be asked to upload a document for review.

WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENT(S) DO I UPLOAD IF ASKED?

To be valid, all documents must clearly indicate your full name, your occupational title, and show employment for the current school year.

Classroom Teachers can use: a state-issued educator certification, a teacher ID card, or a verification letter from a school administrator (on official letterhead, signed by an administrator).
Principals & Assistant Principals can use: a state-issued educator certification, a school staff ID card, or a verification letter from a school administrator (on official letterhead, signed by an administrator).
School Employees can use: a state-issued educator certification, a school staff ID card, or a verification letter from a school administrator (on official letterhead, signed by an administrator).
College/University Professors can use: a teacher ID card, or a verification letter from a school administrator (on official letterhead, signed by an administrator).

NOTE: If your name has recently changed, and the name you submit does not match the name in your document, please provide one of the above documents and a document that shows your name change (for example, a marriage certificate or legal name change document). Combine both documents into one file for upload.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO VERIFY MY TEACHER/EDUCATOR STATUS?

It depends on the verification option you choose. Sometimes, you will be verified in just a few minutes; if a manual review of your document is needed, it may take longer.

Once ID.me has reviewed your documentation, you will receive an email indicating whether or not your status was verified, and guidance for next steps if verification was unsuccessful.

I’M UNABLE TO TYPE MY SCHOOL INTO THE BOX OR SELECT IT FROM THE DROP-DOWN LIST. WHAT DO I DO?

If you’re unable to type your school into the box or if your school isn’t on the drop-down list then you are not eligible for the offer at this time. To make sure you’re not missing your school, please type out the full name. For example, rather than UA, type University of Arizona.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T PROVE I’M AN EDUCATOR?

This is extremely rare. Eligible academic institutions provide multiple forms of documentation that we can accept, but in the event you cannot provide proof of eligibility, we will be unable to approve you for the offer. But to repeat, if you're currently employed by an eligible school or school district, you should have access to a document we can verify.

IS MY INFORMATION SECURE?

ID.me protects all sensitive data with stronger encryption than many financial institutions. Additionally, they are one of only three companies certified by the U.S. Government to enable citizens to access sensitive information from federal agencies. Data security is ID.me's number one priority. They do not share information with third parties without their members' explicit permission. You decide whether or not you wish to release that information or to keep it private on a case-by-case basis.

IS THE TEACHER/EDUCATOR DISCOUNT AVAILABLE IN BROOKLYN BEDDING STORES AS WELL AS ONLINE?

Yes, the Teacher/Educator discount and any other related special promotions are applied at checkout when shopping in our showrooms. For security and privacy reasons, Brooklyn Bedding stores can only verify identification documents in person at an authorized retail store. You may present your credentials at the time of purchase, or work with an in-store associate to digitally verify your eligibility using ID.me.

WHAT KIND OF IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED TO VERIFY MY ELIGIBILITY IN STORES?

Acceptable forms of identification for teachers/educators include staff or faculty identification, or a recent pay stub. Please be sure to redact any details not needed for identification purposes.

If none of the required identification is available at time of purchase, our store associates can work with educators to verify eligibility using ID.me.
